In part one of this two-part series, I will configure IE Mode using Group Policy and Microsoft Intune. IE mode supports ActiveX controls such as Java and Silverlight, and it also supports Internet Explorer settings and group policies that affect Protected Mode and security zone settings. Users no longer need to switch between browsers to access legacy intranet sites. IE Mode enables users to access modern and legacy sites using a single browser. After that you need to create an Enterprise site list XML file.You need to enable the policy Configure Internet Explorer integration and set it to IEmode.If not, you could refer to the steps from Configure Microsoft Edge policy settings on Windows. I assume that you already have the latest MS Edge policy template installed. You could ask the IT department in your company to help you set up the group policies for the Edge browser to configure the IE mode and sitelist. If you configure the enterprise mode site list using the group policy then it will never expire and could help you overcome the 30 days limit when you add the site to IE mode manually. ![]()
